It’s official: An American spacecraft has landed on the moon, the first since Apllo 17. The Intuitive Machines IM-1 mission put their uncrewed Nova-C lander, Odysseus, on the lunar surface at around 6:30 pm EST (23:30 UTC). The landing site is Malapert A crater, only about 300 km from the South Pole — which means, had this occurred during my MoonWalk, I very probably would not have added it to my itinerary because it would have taken a long time to walk there and back! Congratulations to everyone involved.
