Hey, look up there (top) (right) (next to Blogs)! A new menu item!
After yeeting Google Photos I was using Pixelfed but discovered it doesn’t really serve the same purpose — it’s more oriented toward social sharing of individual pictures, not for galleries of large picture collections. So now I’ve set up self hosting of my photos using Piwigo at Rich Holmes’s photos . Which involved setting up mySQL but that wasn’t too bad, and installing Piwigo itself was easy.
There aren’t many photos there right now, and I don’t think I’m going to bother with backfilling a lot, but new albums will go there.
